Integrative Massage Therapy & Bodywork
An Intentional, Goal-Driven Approach to Bodywork
At Habit Bodywork, sessions are never confined to a rigid, one-size-fits-all routine. Effective massage therapy should adapt to the body in real time. Rather than locking you into a single modality, each appointment is a customized, collaborative treatment built around your immediate physical goals.
We begin each session with a focused intake to evaluate tension patterns, chronic discomfort, or recovery needs. From there, your treatment integrates targeted techniques designed to relieve pain, restore mobility, and down-regulate the nervous system:
Therapeutic Deep Tissue: Releases chronic muscular adhesions and structural tension.
Myofascial Release: Restores tissue pliability and improves range of motion.
Nervous System Regulation: Calms systemic stress through deliberate, restorative touch.
Targeted Pain Relief & Athletic Recovery: Supports performance, injury rehabilitation, and everyday functional movement.
Whether you are managing chronic pain, training for an athletic milestone, or seeking balance from daily physical strain, our integrative bodywork helps you feel grounded and at home in your body.
If you have a preference for a specific style, such as Manual Lymphatic Drainage or Trigger Point Therapy, simply note it in your intake form or booking comments.
Sustainable Relief Beyond the Table
At Habit Bodywork, hands-on treatment is only the starting point. Every session pairs customized bodywork with practical movement strategies, postural awareness, and post-session care to help you maintain lasting results outside the studio. Whether you are addressing chronic tension, recovering from intense training, or managing daily physical stress, our collaborative approach ensures you leave with a clear path forward.

Our Services
Explore specialized bodywork modalities designed to relieve chronic tension, restore mobility, and support recovery across Nashville and Davidson County.
-
Myofascial Release targets restrictions within the fascia—the continuous web of connective tissue surrounding muscles and joints—to restore mobility, reduce chronic pain, and improve functional posture. Sustained, gentle pressure softens adhesions and realigns tissue fibers without aggressive force.
Ideal for: Chronic back and neck pain, repetitive strain injuries, postural dysfunction, fibromyalgia, and post-injury or post-surgical scar tissue.
Benefits: Restores fascial glide, improves joint range of motion, and releases deep systemic tension.
-
Manual Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized, rhythmic modality designed to stimulate the flow of lymph and interstitial fluid, supporting the body’s natural decongestive processes.
Ideal for: Post-surgical recovery, injury-related swelling and edema, sinusitis, fluid retention, chronic fatigue, and autoimmune support.
Benefits: Accelerates cellular waste clearance, reduces localized inflammation, and calms the central nervous system.
-
A performance-focused treatment combining compression, active and passive stretching, and targeted friction to optimize muscular efficiency before, during, or after athletic events.
Ideal for: Athletes, endurance runners, and active individuals prepping for an event or recovering from heavy training blocks.
Benefits: Speeds up recovery, reduces delayed-onset muscle soreness (DOMS), restores range of motion, and targets repetitive motion strain.
-
Neuromuscular Therapy focuses on the relationship between the nervous and musculoskeletal systems, using precise, direct ischemic pressure to eliminate hypersensitive trigger points ("knots").
Ideal for: Chronic localized pain, radiating numbness or tingling, postural compensation patterns, and muscle spasms.
Benefits: Deactivates trigger points, restores healthy neural signaling to muscle fibers, and re-establishes balanced muscle recruitment.
-
Deep tissue massage works slowly through superficial layers to access deeper soft tissue, addressing chronic holding patterns, fascial adhesions, and structural strain.
Ideal for: Persistent structural tightness, postural imbalances, chronic overuse tension, and dense scar tissue.
Benefits: Focuses on targeted, deliberate pressure to restore functional tissue glide rather than general force.
-
A customized blend of clinical modalities and flowing, supportive touch tailored to your body's needs on the table, balancing specific relief with deep neurological down-regulation.
Ideal for: Overall stress reduction, general muscle soreness, maintenance between intense training cycles, and full-body reset.
Benefits: Promotes circulation, decreases nervous system stress, and relieves everyday postural fatigue.
-
Utilizing dynamic or stationary suction cups, this technique creates negative pressure to decompress soft tissue layers, separate fascial adhesions, and stimulate local blood and fluid exchange.
Ideal for: Persistent tight bands, restricted joint movement, poor fascial glide, and stubborn trigger points.
Benefits: Rapidly increases local perfusion, promotes functional movement while under decompression, and loosens superficial and deep fascial layers.
-
IASTM uses contoured stainless steel or stone tools to detect and treat soft tissue dysfunction, scar tissue, and micro-adhesions along fascial planes.
Ideal for: Tendinopathies, chronic ligament/tendon strains, plantar fasciitis, and stubborn post-surgical scar tissue.
Benefits: Stimulates a localized microvascular healing response, breaks down restrictive adhesions, and accelerates connective tissue remodeling.
-
A targeted clinical protocol to relieve jaw tension, headaches, and facial strain associated with clenching, grinding (bruxism), and TMJ dysfunction. Treatment combines external neck and shoulder releases with gentle, gloved intraoral work to access internal pterygoid and masseter muscles.
Ideal for: Jaw clicking/popping, clenching, teeth grinding, temporal headaches, neck pain, and bite restriction.
Benefits: Restores natural jaw opening, decompresses the temporomandibular joint, and relieves deep facial tension.
-
Tissue flossing involves wrapping an elastic band around a joint or muscle group while guiding you through active movement, creating targeted compression and fascial shearing.
Ideal for: Restricted joint mechanics, acute post-training stiffness, and persistent localized swelling.
Benefits: Restores tissue sliding surfaces, flushes cellular fluid upon band release, and rapidly restores joint mobility.
-
Prenatal massage provides safe, supportive bodywork tailored specifically to the physiological changes of pregnancy. Using comfortable side-lying positioning and supportive bolstering, sessions focus on easing musculoskeletal strain, relieving nerve compression, and calming the nervous system.
Ideal for: Low back aches, sacroiliac (SI) joint pain, sciatica, hip soreness, swelling in the feet or ankles, and neck and shoulder tension from postural shifts.
Benefits: Reduces structural discomfort as your center of gravity changes, encourages circulation, relieves joint strain, and supports restful sleep.
